History

The tower dates back to the 11th century, which is when the White Tower was erected. Since then, various defensive walls and buildings have been constructed, including a prison, an armoury, a Royal Mint and a menagerie for royal pets!

The tower has served as the location for countless historic events, including the execution of the second wife of King Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn.
