Waimea Canyon & Kōkeʻe State Park Day Trip
Waimea Canyon & Kōkeʻe State Park Day Trip
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Kauai and head to the Hanapepe Valley Lookout, where you'll enjoy the scenic view of the vast Hanapepe Valley. We'll make a short stop here to take photos.
Then, we'll visit Kauai Coffee, Hawaii's largest coffee plantation, where you can enjoy a quick tasting. We'll then continue toward the charming Hanapepe Swinging Bridge, a historic wooden pedestrian bridge, ideal for exploring and taking pictures.
From here, we'll head to the legendary Waimea Canyon, known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” We'll stop several times at different viewpoints so you can admire its steep gorges, waterfalls, and colorful cliffs. Afterward, we'll climb up to the Kokeʻe State Park, where we'll embark on a short hiking trail surrounded by flora endemic to Hawaii and birds like the ʻapapane.
Here, we'll also stop for lunch at the restaurant in the Kokeʻe Lodge Museum, where you can choose between chicken, ribs, or salad, along with a drink. Next, we'll stop at the Puʻuhinahina Lookout to enjoy one last scenic view of Waimea Canyon.
We'll then pass by the town of Waimea, the former site of King Kaumualiʻi, and we'll make a quick stop at the Russian Fort Elizabeth and the statue of King Kaumualiʻi to discover more about the island's royal past. Finally, we'll visit the Spouting Horn, a natural formation where the ocean's waves cross a lava tube and create a spectacular water jet.
We'll conclude the activity by taking you back to your hotel after 10 hours.
